Lo studente alla fine del corso avrà acquisito nozioni di base di statistica medica, principali elementi della statistica descrittiva ed inferenziale, la conoscenza delle principali fonti di dati sanitari correnti, degli applicativi e degli strumenti informatici, come il foglio di calcolo Excel ed il software R quale ambiente di lavoro specifico per la gestione, l'elaborazione e la rappresentazione grafica delle informazioni sanitarie.
Capacità di applicare conoscenze e comprensione.
Lo studente sarà in grado di applicare le conoscenze acquisite per: 1) l’interrogazione delle fonti dati disponibili in rete, 2) condurre una ricerca bibliografica utilizzando le banche dati disponibili in rete, 3) la lettura critica della letteratura scientifica, 4) l’ elaborazioni di base per l’analisi e la presentazione dei dati. Queste capacità costituiranno strumenti utili per la preparazione della tesi di laurea
Competenze trasversali.
Le nozioni acquisite durante il Corso integrato (consultazione e comprensione critica della letteratura scientifica, reperimento di dati sanitari, metodi e strumenti di elaborazione statistica di base), saranno utili anche nell’ambito delle altre discipline biomediche oggetto di insegnamento e nella professione futura.
Knowledge and Understanding.
At the end of the course, the student will have gained the basic concepts of medical statistics, the principal elements of the descriptive and inferential statistics, the knowledge of the main health related data source actually in use and the application of the informatics methods and tools such as Excel spreadsheet and R software, a specific and appropriate instrument for the elaboration and data management and the graphical representation of the health related information.
Capacity to apply Knowledge and Understanding.
The student will be able to apply the knowledge gained during the course during: 1) the examination of the available data sources, 2) when carrying out a bibliographical research using the available data sources, 3) the critical reading of the scientific literature, 4) basic elaboration of the data analysis and their presentation. These abilities will constitute useful tools for when preparing their final thesis
Transversal Skills.
The knowledge gained during the integrated course will be useful also in other biomedical disciplines that are part of the learning process of the students as well as for their future profession.

L’apprendimento viene valutato mediante una prova pratica al PC; la prova consisterà nel rispondere a
- quesiti riferiti a un obiettivo di ricerca sui bisogni di salute della popolazione avvalendosi degli applicativi e strumenti informatici trattati durante il corso;
- domande con risposta multipla
Criteri di valutazione dell'apprendimento.
Comprensione del quesito d’esame; adeguatezza dei metodi utilizzati nella risposta; correttezza dei risultati ottenuti; chiarezza nell’organizzazione dell’elaborato d’esame. Lo studente dovrà dimostrare di essere in grado di utilizzare la terminologia appropriata utile per una comunicazione corretta e rigorosa in ambito scientifico, per quanto riguarda gli aspetti del disegno dello studio e dei risultati dell’analisi statistica dei dati.
Criteri di misurazione dell'apprendimento.
Attribuzione di un valore quantitativo (da 1 a 7,5) ad ogni criterio di valutazione dell’apprendimento, in base al livello raggiunto dallo studente
Criteri di attribuzione del voto finale.
Valutazione integrata e contestuale dei moduli didattici espressa con un voto in 30-esimi; l’esame si intende superato quando il voto finale è uguale o superiore a 18/30. È eventualmente prevista l’assegnazione della lode in presenza di voto finale non inferiore a 30/30.
Learning Evaluation Methods.
Knowledge evaluation will be performed through a written exam using a PC; the exam will consist in answering to questions:
- regarding a research aim on health needs using software/IT tools considered during the course;
- with multiple choice answers
Learning Evaluation Criteria.
Comprehension of the questions; adequacy of the methods used for the answers; the correct answers; the organization of the answers. The student have to demonstrate the ability to use an appropriate terminology, useful for a correct and rigorous communication in scientific fields with regard to aspects of the study design and of the results of the statistical analysis of the data
Learning Measurement Criteria.
A quantitative value (from 1 to 7.5) to any of the evaluation criteria, considering the level reached by the student will be assigned
Final Mark Allocation Criteria.
Integrated and concomitant evaluation of the didactic modules using a mark expressed in thirties; the exam is intended to be passed with a final mark more than 18 out of 30.
