Al termine del corso lo studente saprà:
-Conoscere l’epidemiologia delle principali malattie trasmissibili all’uomo.
At the end of the course students will be alble to
-Know the epidemiology of the main diseases transmissible to humans.
-Understand the mechanisms of transmission of pathogens.
- recognize the main infectious diseases.
-know the clinical, functional and interventional methods for studying the respiratory system
- know the optimal diagnostic and therapeutic management of the main pathological conditions of the respiratory system
At the end of the course students will be able to:
-Understand, based on the different mechanisms of spread of pathogens, the ways to prevent their spread.
- Understand the selection method for pathogens resistant to pharmacological treatments and understand which strategies must be applied to prevent the phenomenon.
- provide information on the prevention of infectious diseases. Know how to establish an anti-infective prophylaxis regime.
-know the main pathologies of the respiratory system with regards to the epidemiology, the etiopathogenesis, the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying the functional alterations, the clinic, the diagnostic-therapeutic path
At the end of the course students will be able to:
- apply the basic notions for the purposes of differential diagnostics between infectious diseases and other diseases, especially internal medicine.
-communicate what has been learned clearly, exposing the information in a logical and coherent sequence, with appropriate technical language using correct terminology.

The exam consists of an oral test.
The learning assessment will be carried out through an oral interview on the topics related to the two modules that belong to the integrated course.
For students with disabilities/invalidities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who have duly requested support to take the specific exam at the Disability/SLD Info Point of the University. The exam methods will be adapted in light of the provisions of the University guidelines (https://www.univpm.it/Entra/Accoglienza_diversamente_abili)
Learning assessment will take into account the following parameters: acquired knowledge, judgment and presentation skills.
The final grade is expressed out of thirty. The exam is considered passed when the final mark is higher than 18. The maximum marks with honors (30 cum laude) can be assigned.
the final grade is discussed and agreed among the members of the examination committee. The final grade is given by the arithmetic average of the evaluation (out of thirty) learning related to the "Infectious Diseases" program and evaluation (out of thirty) learning related to the "Pneumology" program. Neither of the two assessments should be less than 18/30. If the student has not reached a score of at least 18/30 in both modules, the test will be considered "not exceeded" for both programs. Finally, “30 cum laude” is given if the student has achieved full marks for both teaching modules and the teachers agree that has demonstrated full mastery of the subject.
