Adeguate conoscenze di materie di base quali Biologia, Genetica, Biochimica
Basic principles of Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry
The course has been organized in a number of lectures arranged into three didactic units.
The principal aim of the course is to provide students with the basic concepts about the normal microbiota of the human body and the major human pathogens involved in infectious diseases, the mechanisms of pathogenicity, and the mechanisms of action and resistance of the major classes of antimicrobial agents as well as microbiological methods.
At the end of the course the student will know the pathogens and the indigenous microorganisms present on the body, the mechanisms of action of the main antibiotics and the phenomenon of antibiotic resistance and microbiological methods.
The knowledge of of major pathogens and related aspects of epidemiology and prophylaxis will allow the student to deal with other medical disciplines such as Infectious Diseases, Hygiene, etc
