Conoscenza dei rudimenti di storia dell’architettura, delle metodologie per effettuare rilievi diretti e indiretti, dei principi fondamentali della statica degli edifici, dei sistemi costruttivi principali e dimostrare capacità grafiche nel disegno tecnico digitale
Knowledge of the rudiments of the history of architecture, of the methodologies for direct and indirect surveying, of the fundamental principles of building statics, of the main building systems and demonstrating graphic skills in digital technical drawing
Il corso viene svolto attraverso lezioni frontali, lezioni seminariali, revisioni singole, revisioni pubbliche aperte (intermediate reviews).
Il Corso si struttura in due fasi:
- In una prima fase vengono analizzate le tematiche conoscitive relative alle teorie del restauro nella loro evoluzione storica sino ad oggi e vengono illustrate le principali metodiche di indagine sui monumenti ed il loro uso ai fini del progetto.
- In una seconda fase si affrontano i temi del progetto di restauro relativamente al rilievo architettonico, all’analisi dei degradi materici e dei quadri fessurativi, agli interventi di conservazione ed alle eventuali ipotesi di riuso dei monumenti.
Il corso prevede la seguente ripartizione delle ore: Lezioni 80 ore; Esercizi 10 ore.
The course is carried out through lectures, seminars, individual desk reviews, open public reviews (intermediate reviews).
The course is structured in two phases:
- In a first phase the cognitive themes related to the restoration theories are analyzed in their historical evolution up to now and the main methods of investigation on the monuments and their use for the purposes of the project are illustrated.
- In a second phase the themes of the restoration project are dealt with in relation to the architectural survey, to the analysis of the material degradations and cracking system, to conservation interventions and to possible hypotheses for the reuse of monuments.
The course is conceived with the following time schedule: Lectures 80 hours; Exercises 10 hours.
Il Corso mira alla formazione del Progettista Restauratore in grado di conoscere e comprendere un bene architettonico e ambientale nei suoi aspetti storico evolutivi, nelle sue componenti strutturali e materiche, nei suoi valori culturali intrinseci ed ambientali, al fine di poter operare con coscienza e competenza nel progetto di restauro/conservazione del manufatto storico artistico secondo i principi aggiornati della teoria e della tecnica, al fine del suo corretto recupero, tutela e futura manutenzione.
Il Corso ed i relativi Laboratori sono intesi in coordinamento con: Area della Storia dell’Architettura; Area della Rappresentazione e del Rilievo; Area della Tecnologia degli Elementi Costruttivi; Area dell’Architettura Tecnica; Area della Tecnica delle Costruzioni; Area dell’Architettura e Composizione Architettonica.
Capacità di applicare conoscenze e comprensione.
Al fine di affrontare tematiche progettuali avanzate, anche di notevole complessità, attraverso l’applicazione delle conoscenze acquisite, gli studenti dovranno sviscerare tutti gli aspetti conoscitivi inerenti il bene architettonico e ambientale che costituiscono la base indispensabile di ogni corretto intervento di restauro e conservazione: la storia documentaria, il rilievo mensorio, la documentazione su eventuali restauri precedenti, le analisi diagnostiche, ecc. Essi dovranno essere analizzati e valutati criticamente nei loro valori specifici ed applicativi ai fini del progetto, nell’ambito dell’evoluzione delle tecniche operative e delle normative amministrative vigenti.
Competenze trasversali.
Nel corso si terranno esercitazioni, analisi ed elaborazioni progettuali, che verranno svolte in gruppi di lavoro, sul tema del restauro/conservazione di edifici e complessi ambientali di interesse storico sottoposti a vincolo degli Enti di tutela al fine di creare e stimolare la capacità progettuale da parte degli studenti riguardo ai temi trattati.
Knowledge and Understanding.
The course aims to train Designer Restorer able to know and understand an architectural and environmental cultural object in its historical evolutive aspects, in its structural components and materials, in its intrinsic environmental and cultural values in order to be able to operate with awareness and competence in restoration project / conservation of historical artefact artistic updated according to the principles of the theory and technology, in order for a proper recovery, protection and future maintenance.
The course and its labs are designed in coordination with Area of the History of Architecture; Area Imaging and Surveying; Area Technology of Building Elements; Area Technical Architecture; Area of Structural Engineering, Area of Architecture and Architectural Composition.
Capacity to apply Knowledge and Understanding.
In order to address advanced design themes, even of considerable complexity, through the application of knowledge gained, students will thrash out all the aspects of the architectural and environmental cultural object which constitute the essential basis of any proper restoration and conservation project: the documentary history, the geometric survey, documentation of possible previous restoration, diagnostic analysis, etc. They will have to be critically analyzed and evaluated in their specific and applicative values for the project, in the field of the development of operational techniques and of applicable administrative regulations.
Transversal Skills.
The course deals with tutorials, analysis and design studies to be carried out in working groups, on the theme of restoration / preservation of buildings of historical and environmental complexes undergo bond of Bodies of protection, in order to create and stimulate the design ability of the students regarding the topics covered.

Dibattito e confronto con gli studenti su quanto illustrato; Nascita e lo sviluppo delle teorie del Restauro dall’antichità al Secolo dei Lumi; Teorie del Restauro, pensiero e pratica dal XVIII al XX secolo; Il dibattito sul restauro dalla seconda metà ‘800 al primo ‘900: Sacconi-Gazzola; Teorie del Restauro, Il secondo Dopoguerra e i problemi della ricostruzione; Il restauro contemporaneo: esperienze significative; Architettura storica ruderizzata: definizioni, approcci e metodologie di intervento; Architettura fortificata: metodologie di analisi e d'intervento - casi studio; Il restauro del Moderno: temi, problematiche e materiali autarchici; La legislazione del restauro, dalla L.1089/1939 al Codice Urbani; La documentazione per il restauro – Le fonti dirette e indirette; Il degrado materico delle superfici architettoniche: analisi; Il degrado materico delle superfici architettoniche: interventi; Rappresentazione grafica. Rilievi, raddrizzamenti e restituzioni; Il quadro fessurativo, dissesti e meccanismi di danno delle strutture e loro rappresentazione; L'attività di messa in sicurezza e le opere provvisionali di contenimento del danno; Caratteristiche costruttive dell'edilizia storica: analisi strutturale e modalità di restauro; Il restauro del moderno dal progetto al cantiere - aspetti operativi e d'intervento.
