In order to follow the online Intermediate English Language Course students should already have a basic knowledge of English. Beginners or False Beginners will need to use the self-study “English Express” software installed on the computers in the “Atelier Informatico” at the Faculty of Medicine (Polo Eustachio, Ancona) to improve their English language skills before starting the online course.
L’erogazione della didattica avverrà prevalentemente in presenza (70%) con lezioni frontali, esercitazioni e lavori di gruppo in classe, mentre per la restante parte (30%) la didattica verrà erogata in modalità a distanza grazie all’utilizzo di supporti telematici come la piattaforma digitale Moodle.
The “ Lingua Inglese Livello B1” course can be accessed online via the University e-learning site (Moodle) https://lms.univpm.it/ . During the course it is possible to interact with an online tutor and/or other participants via the forums at the end of each Unit.
The online activities aim to take the student to B1 level, which is the language requirement for the undergraduate Degree Courses in the Health Professions. At the end of each Unit there is a final self-assessment test.
Students can use the online activities whenever they want, for as long as they want, and all the exercises can be repeated.
L’obiettivo formativo del corso consiste nell’acquisizione, da parte dei discenti, di una conoscenza della lingua inglese pari al livello B1
Capacità di applicare conoscenze e comprensione.
A conclusione del corso, il discente sarà capace di comprendere i concetti principali di testi e conversazioni in lingua inglese inerenti ad ambiti familiari e di interesse personale/professionale, oltre che di attualità
Competenze trasversali.
Il corso mira a sviluppare capacità tali affinché i discenti siano preparati ad affrontare la vita professionale, anche nell’ottica di un futuro percorso di studio e/o lavoro in contesti internazionali.
Knowledge and Understanding.
At the end of the online course the students will be tested to assess whether they have reached B1 level of the CEFR.
Capacity to apply Knowledge and Understanding.
The students must be able to understand the general meaning and specific information when dealing with a variety of both written and audio materials and must be able to express themselves on familiar topics.
Transversal Skills.
This knowledge is essential for understanding the specific sectorial English related to the Health Professions.
I contenuti del corso sono erogati sia durante le lezioni frontali in presenza, sia in modalità a distanza attraverso la piattaforma informatica Moodle. Quest’ultima contiene tutti i materiali degli argomenti e delle nozioni trattate in classe, oltre che esercizi e materiali aggiuntivi.

The students should be able to consult a good grammar book, for example: “My Grammar Lab Intermediate B1/B2 with key” by Mark Foley e Diane Hall ed. Pearson oppure “English Grammar in Use with key” by R.Murphy ed. Cambridge University Press.
These books are available for consultation in the “Atelier Informatico” at the Faculty of Medicine (Polo Eustachio, Ancona).
