Il corso si articolerà in lezioni frontali e in alcuni elementi di blended learning. Si concentrerà sia sulle abilità ricettive (lettura e ascolto), sia su alcune abilità produttive (scrittura e conversazione). Le attività basate su compiti costituiranno gran parte del corso. A questo livello gli studenti dovranno svolgere una notevole quantità di studio autonomo utilizzando materiale consigliato dal docente e materiale reso disponibile dal docente su piattaforme di e-learning (Moodle).
The course will consist of frontal lessons and some elements of blended learning. It will focus on both receptive (reading and listening), and some production (writing and speaking) skills. Task-based activities will constitute a large part of the course. At this level students will be expected to do a considerable amount of self-study using material recommended by the teacher as well as material made available by the teacher on e-learning platforms (Moodle).
Gli studenti apprenderanno gli aspetti grammaticali e lessicali necessari per capire il senso globale di una tipologia testuale varia e per cogliere i nodi informativi principali di testi scritti di argomento familiare. Questo obiettivo è in linea con il livello B1 del Quadro Europeo. Per migliorare la conoscenza e comprensione della lingua, agli studenti sarà presentato del materiale autentico per lettura e / o ascolto.
Gli studenti dovranno essere in grado di capire il senso globale ed i particolari essenziali di messaggi orali su una varietà di argomenti e di poter comunicare ed esprimersi oralmente in linea con un livello B1.
Le conoscenze acquisite sono indispensabile bagaglio culturale per la comprensione dei contenuti di inglese quotidiano.
The main outcome is to reach a level where students can communicate effectively in English about a wide variety of everyday topics. This outcome would be in line with the B1 level as expressed in the Common European Framework.
To improve knowledge and understanding, students will work with authentic material both when reading and listening.
Students will be expected to understand the overall gist and essential message of oral dialogues on a variety of subjects and to be able to communicate and express themselves at a B1 (intermediate) level.
The skills acquired during the course aim to provide the students with an essential cultural background to be able to understand everyday English.
Le esercitazioni frontali prevedono la revisione delle principali nozioni grammaticali della lingua inglese e forniscono competenze lessicali, d’ascolto, di lettura e della lingua parlata mirate ad un livello intermedio (B1).
Gli studenti potranno approfondire le loro conoscenze utilizzando il materiale disponibile nella Mediateca CSAL e sulla piattaforma e-learning dell’Ateneo (CSAL - Lingua Inglese Livello B1).
The classroom lessons will involve the revision of the main grammatical notions of the English language and provide lexical, listening, reading and spoken language skills aimed at an intermediate level (B1).
Students will be able to deepen their knowledge using the material available in the CSAL Media Library and on the University's e-learning platform (CSAL - English Language Level B1).
Esame scritto su PC
La prova scritta (test su PC) è composta di 4 tipologie di esercizio: Ascolto (6 domande), Grammatica (15 domande), Lettura (4 domande), Gap Fill (lessico – grammatica) (10 domande). Le domande sono del tipo: scelta multipla, vero/falso, riempimento di spazi vuoti. Il tempo disponibile è 45 minuti. Lo studente dovrà dimostrare di aver raggiunto un livello B1 (intermedio).
La misurazione dell’apprendimento viene effettuata in base alle conoscenze dimostrate dallo studente. La valutazione viene considerata positiva e sufficiente quando la conoscenza degli argomenti richiesti viene soddisfatta con almeno il 60% di risposte corrette.
Il voto finale viene attribuito sommando alla valutazione dello scritto di inglese quella della prova di informatica. La lode viene attribuita quando il punteggio ottenuto dalla precedente somma superi il valore 30 e contemporaneamente lo studente abbia dimostrato piena padronanza della materia.
Computer based exam
The written test (computer based) is made up of 4 task types: Listening (6 questions), Grammar (15 questions), Reading (4 questions), Cloze test (grammar and vocabulary) 10 questions. The questions are: multiple choice, true/false, gap fill.
The available allowed is 45 minutes. The students must demonstrate that they have reached a B1 (intermediate) level.
Exam marks are expressed out of 30. Students will pass the exam if they achieve minimum of 18/30.
The final score is determined based on the outcome of the written exam in English, combined with the result of the IT examination. Positive grades: from 18 to 30. Cum laude can be bestowed to students who demonstrate an outstanding performance.
