The course provides students with elements of plant biology, physiology and genetics applied to arboriculture and the application fundamentals of modern arboriculture for the creation and management of fruit, ornamental and wood tree plants for sustainable and quality production.
The main educational objective of the course is the development of the student's ability to know, create and manage modern, sustainable, highly efficient tree systems with quality production.
a) autonomy of judgement to identify the information necessary to know the aspects related to the development, reproduction and management of tree plants, as well as cultivation techniques for sustainable and quality productions; b) ability to transfer information, ideas, problems and related technical solutions in a clear and comprehensive way to interlocutors, specialists and non-specialists, interested in the different tree systems.

The final evaluation will be based on a written test (optional) and/or an oral test on all topics. "For students with disabilities/disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who have made a due request for support to take the specific exam at the University's Disability/SLD Info Point. The examination methods will be adapted in the light of the provisions of the University guidelines (https://www.univpm.it/Entra/Accoglienza_diversamente_abili)"
During the exam, the student will have to demonstrate in-depth knowledge on the different topics covered in the course. To pass the test, the student will have to demonstrate that he/she has an overall knowledge of the contents, exposing them correctly and with appropriate technical terminology, and that he/she is able to deal with deductive reasoning that allows him/her to make appropriate connections within the subject of which he/she must have acquired a complete mastery.
Attribution of the final grade out of thirty. Passing the test is obtained with a final grade between 18/30 and 30/30 cum laude
The written test (optional) will include 33 open-ended questions on the topics covered and each question will be given a score from 0 to 10. The final grade will be expressed in thirtieths. The oral exam will be divided into three main questions. Honours will be awarded to students who, having achieved the highest grade, demonstrate complete mastery of the subject.
If the student intends to take both tests (written and oral), the final grade will be derived from the average of the two results obtained, expressed in thirtieths.
