The following topics are propaedeutic to the teaching: basic knowledge of general biology.
Le lezioni a contenuto teorico saranno erogate anche in streaming attraverso il collegamento via Teams alla lezione erogata in aula (modalità telematica sincrona). Il corso si compone di lezioni teoriche (4 CFU) e altre attività, anche teorico-pratiche, svolte dagli studenti (singolarmente o in piccoli gruppi), seminari e visite guidate presso aziende alimentari locali e nazionali (2 CFU). Parallelamente alle lezioni è disponibile un corso e-learning che include: il materiale didattico organizzato in unità di apprendimento; linee guida e relazioni sulle attività teorico-pratiche; test di autovalutazione; forum interattivo e altri strumenti; dettagli sulle visite guidate.
* Gli studenti che hanno frequentato il corso online "Edible insects: the more you know, the better they taste" di Eduopen (https://learn.eduopen.org/eduopen/course_details.php?courseid=169) e che si sono aggiudicati l'attestato di frequenza, verrà assegnato 1 CFU per il corso "Insect Productsi".
The theoretical lessons will also be provided in streaming through the connection via Teams to the lesson delivered in the classroom (synchronous telematic mode). The course consists of theoretical lectures (4 ECTS) and other activities, including theoretical-practical activities, carried out by students (individually or in small groups), seminars and guided visits at local and national food factories (2 ECTS). An e-learning course is available in parallel with the lectures; this includes the educational material organized in learning units; guidelines and reports on the theoretical-practical activities; self-evaluation tests; interactive forum and other tools; details on guided visits.
* Students who have attended the online course "Edible insects: the more you know, the better they taste" by Eduopen (https://learn.eduopen.org/eduopen/course_details.php?courseid=169) and have been awarded the Certificate of Attendance, will be assigned 1 CFU for the course "Insect products".
Il corso consente agli studenti di acquisire le conoscenze integrative sulle potenzialità degli insetti e dei loro prodotti utilizzati negli alimenti e nei mangimi.
Capacità di valutare le potenzialità di tecnologie innovative per il miglioramento dell'allevamento degli insetti e per il miglioramento della qualità e della redditività dei loro prodotti.
Autonomia di giudizio: capacità nell'identificazione delle informazioni per migliorare l'efficienza dei processi e la qualità dei prodotti finali.
Comunicazione: capacità di comunicazione, saper comunicare in modo chiaro ed esauriente nozioni, idee, problemi e soluzioni tecniche ad interlocutori, professionali e non, rappresentativi delle diverse e specifiche competenze della filiera agroalimentare (ingegneri, biologi, chimici, amministratori ).
The course enables students to acquire the integrative knowledges about the potential of insects and their products as food and feed.
Capability of evaluating the potentiality of innovative technologies for the improvement of the insect rearing and the innovative technologies for the improvement of the quality and viability of their products.
Making judgements: ability in the identification of the information to improve the efficiency of the processes and the quality of the final products.
Communications: communication skills, being able to clearly and exhaustively communicate notions, ideas, problems and technical solutions to interlocutors, either professional or not, representative of the various and specific competencies in the agro-food supply chain (engineers, biologists, chemists, administrators).

2. Apis mellifera: biologia, etologia, tecniche di allevamento, prodotti (2 CFU)
3. Insetti edibili: Il potenziale degli insetti come cibo e mangime, i servizi ecosistemici degli insetti e l'impatto ambientale della produzione di insetti; tecnologia e gestione della produzione; qualità nutrizionale e lavorazione; marketing e accettazione del consumatore; legislazione (3 CFU).

2. Apis mellifera: biology, ethology, beekeeping techniques and products (2 ECTS)
3. Edible insects: the potential of insects as food and feed, ecosystem services of insects and environmental impact of insect production; production technology and management; nutritional quality and processing; marketing and consumer acceptance; legislation (3 ECTS)
Prova scritta con domande a risposta aperta su tre delle tematiche indicate nel programma didattico. Gli studenti avranno a disposizione 1,5 ore per completare l'esame. Per gli di studenti con disabilità/invalidità o disturbo specifico di apprendimento (DSA), che abbiano fatto debita richiesta di supporto per affrontare lo specifico esame di profitto all’Info Point Disabilità/DSA dell’Ateneo, le modalità di esame saranno adattate alla luce di quanto previsto dalle linee guida di Ateneo (https://www.univpm.it/Entra/Accoglienza_diversamente_abili)
Per superare l’esame, lo studente dovrà dimostrare di possedere una complessiva conoscenza dei contenuti, esposti in maniera sufficientemente corretta con utilizzo di adeguata terminologia tecnica, e di essere in grado di affrontare ragionamenti deduttivi che gli consentano di realizzare opportuni collegamenti all’interno della materia e di averne acquisito una completa padronanza.
Attribuzione del voto finale in trentesimi. Il superamento dell'esame darà luogo a votazioni comprese tra 18 e 30 “cum laude”.
Le domande a risposta aperta su tre degli argomenti indicati nel programma didattico avranno pari peso (massimo 10 punti)
Written test with open-ended questions on three of the subjects listed in the teaching program. Students will have 1,5 hours to complete exam. For students with disabilities/inability or specific learning disabilities (SLD), who have made a proper request for support at the University's Disability/SLD Info Point, the examination procedures will be adapted to the University guidelines (https://www.univpm.it/Entra/Accoglienza_diversamente_abili).
To pass the exam, the student must demonstrate an overall understanding of the content using appropriate technical terminology, and to be able to deal with deductive reasoning that enable him to create links within matter, and to have a complete mastery of the subject.
The final mark is attributed in thirtieths. Successful completion of the examination will lead to grades ranging from 18 to 30 “cum laude”.
The open-ended questions on three of the subjects listed in the teaching program will be of equal weight (10 points maximum)
