Esame orale.
Oral examination. At student's request, the tests can be adapted in the light of University guideline provisions for all students with disabilities
At the end of the course the student must demonstrate:
1) To know the general chemical characteristics of the different families of pharmacological agents that can condition the mechanism of action, elimination and
the toxicity of drugs.
2) To know the mechanism by which these agents exert their action at the cellular and molecular level and the mechanisms
biochemists responsible for this action.
3) Correlate the mechanisms referred to in point 2 with the functional modifications induced by drugs on cells, organs and / or systems.
4) To know the most relevant pharmacokinetic aspects of drugs (extent of absorption, pharmacoprotein binding, effective plasma concentrations, half-life, metabolic pathways, main elimination pathways and the importance of any functional impairment of the metabolizing organs and / or of the excretory pathways) on the extent of the elimination of different drugs from the body).
The vote will be expressed in thirtieths. The student will pass the exam if he / she obtains at least 18. It is expected to be awarded the highest marks with honors (30 cum laude)
The final grade will be established based on the outcome of the oral exam, divided into at least 5 questions on different topics of the program. Students who demonstrate a thorough and comprehensive understanding of the contents of the course will obtain the praise. Students with serious shortcomings on one or more topics will not pass the test.
