Gli studenti iscritti al primo anno possono effettuare un test di lingua
organizzato dal Centro di Supporto per l'Apprendimento delle Lingue
(CSAL), Il test si svolge all'inizio dell'anno accademico, durante la
Settimana Zero e serve per valutare il grado di conoscenza dell'inglese.
Gli studenti che ottengono un punteggio basso dovrebbero utilizzare il
software di auto-apprendimento English Express - corso lingua base
disponibile nella Mediateca CSAL - per raggiungere il livello di conoscenza
minimo richiesto (CEFR A2+/B1) che consente di frequentare le
esercitazioni di inglese tenute nel 2° semestre del secondo anno.
Students enrolled in the first year of the degree can take an English
Language Placement Test, organized by the University Language Centre
(CSAL). This test will be held at the start of the academic year during
Orientation in September and it is useful for assessing the students’
current level of English. Any students who get a low score should follow
an elementary level self- study course (English Express) using the
software in the CSAL self-study centre in order to reach the minimum
level (CEFR A2+/B1) needed to be able to follow the English language
lessons which will be held in the second semester during their second
year.
Esercitazioni frontali organizzate dal CSAL (Dott.ssa Elena Delfina Agnelli
e Dott. Michael Lacey-Freeman) nel 2° semestre per gli studenti iscritti al
secondo anno che forniscono competenze grammaticali e lessicali,
d'ascolto, di lettura e delia lingua parlata e pronuncia ad un livello
intermedio (Bl).
Face to face classroom lessons organized by the CSAL (Dr. Elena Delfina
Agnelli and Dr. Michael Lacey-Freeman). The English course is part of the
second year syllabus and the lessons are held in the second semester.
They aim to improve the students’ English language skills regarding
grammar and vocabulary, listening, speaking and pronunciation, bringing
the students to an intermediate level of knowledge (B1).
Gli studenti apprenderanno gli aspetti grammaticali e lessicali necessari
per capire il senso globale di una tipologia testuale varia e per cogliere i
nodi informativi principali di testi scritti concernenti argomenti familiari e
di natura generale.
Gli studenti dovranno essere in grado di capire il senso globale ed i
particolari essenziali di messaggi orali e scritti, su argomenti vari e di
poter esternare la loro comprensione di testi di lettura ed esercizi
grammaticali.
The students will learn the language skills that enable them to
understand the general meaning of various types of written and listening
texts and to recognize the significant points in documents in the English
language.
The students must be able to understand the general meaning and
specific information when listening to a variety of audio materials and
must be able to express their understanding when faced with reading texts and grammatical exercises in English.
Contenuti (lezioni frontali, 6 CFU,44 ore):
Unità 1-7 del libro di testo e tutte le sezioni dedicate alla grammatica da
unità 1-9.

Units 1 -7 of the coursebook and all the grammar reference sections from
units 1-9.
Il grado di conoscenza acquisito dagli studenti viene verificato attraverso
un test su PC.
La prova scritta (test su PC) è composta di due parti: comprensione
scritta ed uso della lingua (35 minuti) e comprensione orale (35 minuti).
La prima parte comprende 2 brani che prevedono l'inserimento di 10
parole mancanti ognuno a scelta fra quelle fornite e 2 brani di lettura su
argomenti di attualità con quesiti a scelta multipla o in alternativa
vero/falso. La seconda parte comprende 5 brevi dialoghi su argomenti
ricorrenti su ambiti tipo la famiglia, il lavoro, il tempo libero, le notizie o
l'Internet ed un dialogo unico esteso in cui ricorrono gli stessi tipi di
argomenti o questioni di attualità. Le domande sono del tipo: scelta
multipla, vero/falso. Il tempo disponibile è 1 ora e 10 minuti.
Il voto finale è attribuito in trentesimi. L'esame si intende superato
quando il voto è maggiore o uguale a 18. È prevista l'assegnazione del
massimo dei voti con lode (30 e lode).
The students’ knowledge will be tested via a computer-based test.
The computer-based test has two parts: a written section (35 minutes)
and a listening section (35 minutes). The written section is made up of 2
cloze tests (10 gap-fill each) 2 reading comprehension texts on current
events with multiple choice or true/false questions. The listening section
is made up of 5 short dialogues on familiar topics related to the family,
work, leisure time, the news or the Internet and one long dialogue on
current events with multiple choice or true/false questions. The maximum
set time for the test is 1 hour 10 minutes.
The final score is a result out of 30, with 18/30 being the minimum pass
mark. The maximum score of 30/30 may be given with honours (“cum
laude”).
