Basic knowledge of agronomy, horticulture and field crops.
Il metodo didattico si avvale di lezioni frontali in ppt (2 CFU), fornite in copia agli studenti, e di esercitazioni in campo e visite guidate presso strutture che fanno attività di orticoltura con finalità sociali per bambini, disabili, carcerati, malati o anziani. Le visite e le esercitazioni sono importanti per mettere in pratica gli aspetti tecnici affrontati durante il corso (1 CFU).
The didactic method is based on ppt lectures (3 ECTS) (provided in copies to the students), technical experiences and visit excursions at facilities that make horticultural activities with social purposes for children, people with disabilities, or elderly. The technical visits will be organized in order to put into practice what the students have learned in class (1 ECTS).
L’insegnamento si propone di introdurre gli studenti alle problematiche che si devono affrontare nella realizzazione di orti a scopi sociali, terapici, scolastici ecc.; far conoscere lo stato dell’arte dell’ortoterapia nella ricerca internazionale e conoscere dei casi di studio delle principali specie orticole utilizzate nella realizzazione di orti con diverse finalità.
Competenze trasversali.
Lo studente comprenderà l’importanza di una progettazione che sia di supporto ad un lavoro interdisciplinare dello staff: medico, infermieristico, amministrativo, psicologico, sociologico e degli educatori. Inoltre lo studio teorico e le attività pratiche evidenzieranno il valore di una progettazione di tipo partecipativo che coinvolge attivamente tutti gli stakeholders (impiegati, partner, clienti/pazienti, cittadini e i fruitori finali) nel processo di progettazione in modo da assicurare che le loro necessità vengano attese.
Knowledge and Understanding.
The course aims to introduce students to the problems that they face in designing vegetable gardens for social purposes, counseling or health, education etc.; to know the state of the art of therapeutic gardens in international research and know the case studies of the major vegetable crops used in the production of gardens with different purposes.
Transversal Skills.
The student will understand the importance of a design that will support an interdisciplinary work of the staff: medical, nursing, administrative, psychologists, sociologists, and educators. Besides the theoretical study and practical activities will highlight the value of a participatory design that actively involves all stakeholders (employees, partners, customers, citizens and end users) in the design process to ensure that the product designed meets their needs and is usable.
1 Presentazione del corso. Le differenti tipologie di orti per finalità sociali: orti urbani, scolastici, sociali, terapici ecc. I benefici della terapia orticolturale e dei giardini terapeutici nella ricerca internazionale. Conoscere le disabilità per progettare orti a scopo terapico. Legislazione italiana (0,5 CFU)
2 L’importanza di una programmazione e di un approccio partecipativo ed integrato in un’equipe di professionisti (medici, psicologi, educatori, insegnanti ecc.). Specificità dell’approccio terapeutico ri/abilitativo orticolturale. Il gruppo e l’approccio orticolturale. Le terapie complementari all’orticoltura. Caso di studio delle principali specie orticole utilizzate nella realizzazione di orti con scopi sociali (1 CFU).
3 Fase di progettazione: l’orto come luogo ludico ricreativo e di aggregazione. Scelta delle colture più adatte. Scelta del metodo di coltivazione (sinergico, biodinamico, biologico, convenzionale e integrato). Camminamenti. Parcelle. Altre zone di servizio. Esercitazioni: progettazione di un orto con finalità sociali. Prove pratiche (1,5 CFU).
1. Course presentation. Classification of vegetable garden: urban, educational, social, counseling or healing gardens etc. The benefits of horticultural therapy and therapeutic gardens in international research. Knowing the disability to design gardens therapeutic purposes: Italian legislation (0.5 ECTS).
2. The importance of planning and use participative and integrated approaches in a team of professionals (doctors, psychologists, educators, teachers, etc.). Specificity of the therapeutic horticultural rehabilitation. The group and the horticultural approach. Alternative therapies and / or complementary to horticulture. Case study of the major vegetable crops used in the production of gardens with social purposes (1 ECTS).
3. Design phase: the garden as a place for recreation and fun combinations. Choice of the most suitable crops. Choice of the method of cultivation (synergistic, biodynamic, organic, conventional and integrated). Walkways. Plots. Other areas of service. Exercise: designing a garden with a social purpose. Practical tests of embodiment of a vegetable garden (1.5 ECTS).
La verifica finale sarà unica per l’intero corso integrato ORTOFLOROFRUTTICOLTURA SOCIALE e verterà su prova scritta e/o un colloquio orale.
Criteri di valutazione dell'apprendimento.
Per superare la prova, lo studente dovrà dimostrare di possedere una complessiva conoscenza dei contenuti, esposti in maniera sufficientemente corretta con utilizzo di adeguata terminologia tecnica, e di essere in grado di affrontare ragionamenti deduttivi che gli consentano di realizzare opportuni collegamenti all’interno della materia e di averne acquisito una completa padronanza

Attribuzione del voto finale in trentesimi.

La prova scritta (facoltativa) comprenderà 20 domande a risposta aperta sugli argomenti trattati e ad ogni domanda verrà attribuito un punteggio massimo di 10 punti. Il voto finale dello scritto verrà espresso in trentesimi.
La prova orale sarà articolata su tre quesiti principali, ognuno dei quali sarà valutabile con un punteggio variabile fra 0 e 10 punti. La lode verrà attribuita agli studenti che, avendo conseguito la valutazione massima, abbiano dimostrato la completa padronanza della materia.
Qualora lo studente intenda sostenere entrambe le prove (scritto e orale) il voto finale deriverà dalla media dei due risultati espresso in trentesimi.
Learning Evaluation Methods.
Final assessment will be unique for the entire integrated course and it will consist on an optional writing test and/or oral discussion on three of the subjects listed in the teaching program.
Learning Evaluation Criteria.
To pass the exam, the student must demonstrate an overall understanding of the content using appropriate technical terminology, and to be able to deal with deductive reasoning that enable him to create links within matter, and to have a complete mastery of the subject.
Learning Measurement Criteria.
The final mark is attributed in thirtieths. Successful completion of the examination will lead to grades ranging from 18 to 30 “cum laude”.
Final Mark Allocation Criteria.
The written test (optional) consists of 20 open-ended questions about the topics, for each one questions will be evaluated with score maximum of 10 point. The final result of the written test will be expressed out of thirty.
The oral examination consists of three questions concerning the subjects listed in the teaching program, each of ones will be quantified in the range 0 - 10. The degree of 30 “cum laude” is attributed when the student demonstrates complete mastery of the subject.
If the student wants to perform both tests (written and oral), the final grade will result from the average of the two results expressed in thirtieths.
