The purpose of the course is to make the students aware that Marketing is strongly linked to the people’s culture


Capacity to apply Knowledge and Understanding.

Because cultures around the world are many and different a marketing manager must be able to recognize, to study and to understand foreign cultures, in order to adapt his/her marketing approach.


Transversal Skills.

evaluate the differences in foreign cultures and being able to adapt the communication style and the content in order to be effective.

1° MODULO
1. Contenuti
Il ruolo del marketing nei mercati internazionali, gli elementi tangibili ed intangibili dell’offerta, il modello di Hofstede per l’analisi e la classificazione delle culture, il posizionamento internazionale della marca, le dimensioni della comunicazione; l’adattamento del piano comunicativo in relazioni alle differenti culture target.
2. Esercitazioni
Discussione dei casi Ducati, Ziploc, Eurodisney, Pringles, International Pizza House, Primigi, Med-Net, Black& Decker, Link, Sephora, Telemetrix.
3. Esercitazioni in campo
Store check.

1° Didactic unit
The role of marketing in present global competition.
Tangible and immaterial elements of the marketing offer.
Hofstede’s model and its culture classification dimensions.
Branding strategies and communication styles.

2° Didactic unit
The course wili cover many of the fundamental topics that leaders need to understand including leadership, motivation, conflict, negotiation, organizational culture, stress management, managing diversity, organizational change and much more. You will learn relevant theoretical and factual information and you will participate innumerous active learning activities. Critical thinking is emphasized through hands-on activities, exercises discussions and cases that will help you to build familiarity with key concepts. I know you will find this course to be challenging and I hope you will grow as you study and learn about human behavior in organizations.


MODALITÀ DI SVOLGIMENTO DELL'ESAME DEVELOPMENT OF THE EXAMINATION
Modalità di valutazione dell'apprendimento.

Presentazione dei casi elaborati, esame finale con 30 domande , preparazione di due video commerciali


Criteri di valutazione dell'apprendimento.

Comprensione delle logiche che guidano l’adattamento del piano di marketing e comunicazione agli aspetti antropologici che caratterizzano le culture.


Criteri di misurazione dell'apprendimento.

Il voto verrà espresso in trentesimi. Lo studente supererà l'esame se otterrà almeno 18. È prevista l’assegnazione del massimo dei voti con lode (30 e lode). Il voto verra’ mediato con quello del secondo modulo


Criteri di attribuzione del voto finale.

Media ponderata dei voti ottenuti nelle 9 presentazioni (30%), dei video (20%) e delle 30 domande del test (50%).


Learning Evaluation Methods.

1° Didactic unit
case discussion, video project , final written test.
2° Didactic unit
The assessment of the performance is based mostly on the Course Paper, the Team Project, class participation and attendance and final written exam.

Learning Measurement Criteria.

Positive grades: from 18 to 30. Cum laude can be bestowed to outstanding performance
The final grade of International Business and Communication will be an average of the two modules.


Final Mark Allocation Criteria.

1° Didactic unit
Correctness of 30 questions final test, coherence in 9 case discussion, creativity and versatility in Video project
2° Didactic unit
Weights are approximately one third for the Course Paper, one third for the Team Project and Presentation, one third to class participation and final test.
