Il Modulo didattico di Otorinolaringoiatria, integrato nel Corso di Discipline chirurgiche distretto cefalico, si svolge nel I e II semestre del V anno di Corso di Laurea, per un totale di 36 ore di didattica frontale pari a 3CFU.
The Otolaryngology teaching module, integrated into the Course of Head and Neck Surgical Disciplines, takes place in the 1st and 2nd semester of the 5th year of the Degree Course, for a total of 40 hours of frontal teaching equal to 4 credits.
L’insegnamento permette agli studenti di acquisire le conoscenze fondamentali sulla fisiopatologia del cavo orale e delle vie aeree-digestive superiori. Contestualmente fornisce agli studenti la comprensione di base delle fondamentali metodiche diagnostiche e dei principali protocolli terapeutici-riabilitativi delle patologie del cavo orale e delle vie aeree-digestive superiori
Capacità di applicare conoscenze e comprensione.
Le conoscenze acquisite permetteranno un iniziale approccio diagnostico e terapeutico-riabilitativo delle patologie del cavo orale e delle vie aeree-digestive superiori.

Knowledge and Understanding.
The course allows students to acquire fundamental knowledge on the pathophysiology of the oral cavity and the upper air-digestive tract. At the same time, it provides students with a basic understanding of the fundamental diagnostic methods and the main therapeutic-rehabilitative protocols of pathologies of the oral cavity and upper air-digestive tracts.

MALATTIE DELL’ORECCHIO
Anatomia e fisiologia dell’apparato uditivo e vestibolare. Le ipoacusie trasmissive e neurosensoriali. Le sindromi vertiginose centrali e periferiche. Otiti esterne. Otiti medie acute e croniche. Ipoacusia da rumore. Fratture della rocca petrosa. Paralisi del nervo facciale. Le sindromi algico disfunzionali dell’apparato masticatorio. Neoplasie dell’orecchio esterno, medio ed interno.
MALATTIE DEL NASO E DEI SENI PARANASALI
Anatomia e fisiologia del naso e dei seni paranasali. Insufficienza respiratoria nasale nell’adulto e nei bambini. Le riniti allergiche e non allergiche. Le sinusiti acute e croniche. Le sinusiti odontogene. Le epistassi. Le algie cranio-facciali. Iposmie ed anosmie. Mucocele etmoido frontale. Fratture delle ossa nasali. Neoplasie benigne e maligne del massiccio facciale. Fibroangioma giovanile. Neoplasie maligne del rinofaringe. Adenoidite cronica ipertrofica. Respirazione orale e malocclusione.
MALATTIE DEL CAVO ORALE E DELL’OROFARINGE
Anatomia e fisiologia del cavo orale e dell’orofaringe. Neoplasie maligne del cavo orale e dell’orofaringe. Scialoadeniti acute e croniche. Scialolitiasi. Tonsilliti acute e croniche dell’adulto e del bambino. Ascessi peritonsillari. Roncopatia e sindrome delle apnee ostruttive nel sonno (OSAS). Funzione gustativa e sue modificazioni.
MALATTIE DELLA LARINGE E DELL’IPOFARINGE
Anatomia e fisiologia della laringe e dell’ipofaringe. Laringiti acute e croniche. Disfonie organiche e disfunzionali. Paralisi ricorrenziali.. Manifestazioni faringo-laringee della patologia da reflusso gastro-esofageo. Neoplasie benigne e maligne della laringe e dell’ipofaringe. La tracheotomia.
MALATTIE DEL COLLO
Anatomia e fisiologia del collo. Le tumefazioni cervicali. Le neoplasie benigne e maligne della ghiandola Parotide.
EAR DISEASES
Anatomy and physiology of the auditory and vestibular systems. Conductive and sensorineural hearing loss. Central and peripheral vertiginous syndromes. Otitis externa. Acute and chronic otitis media. Noise-induced hearing loss. Fractures of the petrous rock. Facial nerve paralysis. Dysfunctional pain syndromes of the masticatory system. Neoplasms of the external, middle and internal ear.
DISEASES OF THE NOSE AND PARANASAL SINUSES
Anatomy and physiology of the nose and paranasal sinuses. Nasal respiratory insufficiency in adults and children. Allergic and non-allergic rhinitis. Acute and chronic sinusitis. Odontogenic sinusitis. Nosebleeds. Craniofacial pain. Hyposmias and anosmias. Frontal ethmoid mucocele. Fractures of the nasal bones. Benign and malignant neoplasms of the facial mass. Juvenile fibroangioma. Malignant neoplasms of the nasopharynx. Chronic hypertrophic adenoiditis. Oral breathing and malocclusion.
ORAL CAVITY AND OROPHARYNX DISEASES
Anatomy and physiology of the oral cavity and oropharynx. Malignant neoplasms of the oral cavity and oropharynx. Acute and chronic sialadenitis. Sialolithiasis. Acute and chronic tonsillitis in adults and children. Peritonsillar abscesses. Snoring and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS). Gustatory function and its modifications.
DISEASES OF THE LARYNX AND HYPOPHARYNX
Anatomy and physiology of the larynx and hypopharynx. Acute and chronic laryngitis. Organic and dysfunctional dysphonias. Recurrential paralysis. Pharyngolaryngeal manifestations of gastroesophageal reflux disease. Neoplasms benign and malignant of the larynx and hypopharynx. The tracheotomy.
DISEASES OF THE NECK
Neck anatomy and physiology. Cervical swellings. Parotid gland benign and malignant neoplasms.
L’esame consiste in una prova scritta di 3 domande con risposta aperta. Ad ogni domanda viene attribuito un punteggio compreso tra 0 e 10 ed il risultato è calcolato come somma dei punteggi ottenuti sulle singole domande. L’esame si intende superato quando il voto finale è maggiore o uguale a 18.
Per gli studenti con disabilità e DSA, su richiesta dello studente, le modalità di esame potranno essere adottate alla luce di quanto previsto dalle linee guida di ateneo.
Criteri di valutazione dell'apprendimento.
Nella prova scritta lo studente dovrà dimostrare di aver acquisito le conoscenze fondamentali sulla fisiopatologia delle malattie delle vie aeree digestive superiori.
Criteri di misurazione dell'apprendimento.
Il voto finale è attribuito in trentesimi. L’esame si intende superato quando il voto finale è maggiore o uguale a 18.
Criteri di attribuzione del voto finale.
Il voto finale viene attribuito sommando i punteggi ottenuti sulle singole domande. La lode viene attribuita quando il punteggio ottenuto dalla precedente somma raggiunga il valore di 30 e contemporaneamente lo studente abbia dimostrato piena padronanza della materia.
Learning Evaluation Methods.
The exam consists of a written test of 3 questions with open answers. Each question is assigned a score between 0 and 10 and the result is calculated as the sum of the scores obtained on the individual questions. The exam is considered passed when the final grade is greater than or equal to 18.
At the student request, the test can be adapted in the light of University guideline provisions for all students with disabilities.
Learning Evaluation Criteria.
In the written test, the student must demonstrate that he has acquired the basic knowledge of the pathologies of the upper digestive airways.
Learning Measurement Criteria.
The final mark is given out of thirty. The exam is considered passed when the final grade is greater than or equal to 18.
Final Mark Allocation Criteria.
The final grade is given by adding the scores obtained on the individual questions. Honors are awarded when the score obtained from the previous sum reaches the value of 30 and at the same time the student has demonstrated full mastery of the subject
