Knowledge provided by the biomedical disciplines studied in the previous years of the course.
Lezioni frontali, esercitazioni a piccoli gruppi
Lectures, exercises in small groups
The student knows the fundamental concepts of hygiene, preventive medicine and public health, with reference to the application aspect of preventive measures aimed at reducing and containing risks to the health of patients and healthcare workers.
At the end of the course the student must be able to demonstrate to be able to adopt behavioral norms suitable to counter the spread of healthcare associated infections; be able to interpret epidemiologic studies and evaluate the results.
The student must be able to combine the ethical and deontological principles with clinical needs represented by other health professionals as part of the multi-specialist health teams as well as with regard to nursing facilities and develop skills and decision-making autonomy in the field of Preventive Medicine and of Public Health.

Learning is evaluated with a written test. The written test will be with closed questions (30).
The evaluation of the student focuses on the topics covered in class and explained in the program. The student demonstrates the acquisition of knowledge related to the epidemiological methodology, epidemiology and control of the most frequent non-infectious and infectious communicable diseases.
To each correct answer a score of 1 is assigned, to the wrong ones no points are given. To avoid that students randomly score answers, in 2 questions clearly wrong answers are included: in case they are marked, 3 points for each one are subtracted.
The sum of the values attributed to each answer provides the attribution of the final grade. If the student reaches a mark of more than 30, praise is given
