RISULTATI DI APPRENDIMENTO ATTESI LEARNING OUTCOMES
Knowledge and Understanding.

The course provides knowledge about measuring, geo-referencing, analysis, management, visualisation and publication of time and space varying information and environmental assessment procedures, criteria and procedures for environmental certification and management, environmental impact of engineering works and structures. Students will also have the opportunity to deepen the principles of territorial planning, the types of plans and the responsible local authorities.

Capacity to apply Knowledge and Understanding.

Students will be able to apply remote sensing and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) procedures and to apply environmental assessment, certification and management procedures, assess the environmental impact and territory transformation produced by the engineering works and systems designed. And then, depending on the training courses chosen, students will also be able to correctly understand complex urban and territorial phenomena, highlight critical elements and potential of the systems analysed, propose alternative spatial and structural organisation intervention scenarios.

Transversal Skills.

Autonomy of judgment With regards to territory analysis and planning, graduates will have developed the ability to apply the knowledge and understanding gained in solving highly complex engineering problems: will be able to apply remote sensing and GIS procedures and environmental assessment, certification and management procedures, assess the environmental impact and territory transformation produced by the engineering works and systems designed. Communication skills Students develops their communication skills in English during the entire training programme, with the ability to express themselves and communicate even in international contexts. They will have increased their communication skills such as correct expression and appropriate use of technical-scientific language. Learning ability

PROGRAMMA PROGRAM

The course introduce the student to critical knowledge of the characteristics and the complex structure of the territory, compare the different disciplinary approaches, define the structure and settlement patterns results from a combination of economic, social, cultural and political dynamics.
Lectures (32 hours), focus on basic concepts to: land use and settlements; infrastructures; urban sprawl; landscape; Housing, climate change; urban regeneration, energy policy, social innovation, blu and green infrastructure, reconstruction and safety.
Topics of the course:
- Basic concepts and language of urban planning,
- The principles of the territorial Planning and their evolution;
- The levels of planning, types of plans, governance, policy maker, stakeholder and actors of regional planning and development;
- Multi levels of spatial planning: municipal, local, regional;
- geo-reference analysis of urban and territorial action;
- The main innovations on the territorial government;
- Case studies and good practices.

Classroom work group(16 hours):
The Project work focus on Italian “Inner areas” themes and Regional strategy to build back. Students analyze the territorial system, describe geo-reference analysis, provide critical interpretation of different aspects of the case study and define possible actions to urban and territorial planning
