MODALITÀ DI SVOLGIMENTO DEL CORSO DEVELOPMENT OF THE COURSE

Il corso consisterà in lezioni frontali e in alcuni elementi di blended learning. Si concentrerà sulle abilità ricettive (lettura e ascolto) e produttive (scrittura e conversazione). Il lavoro di gruppo e le attività task-based costituiranno una parte fondamentale del corso. A questo livello gli studenti e le studentesse dovranno svolgere una notevole quantità di studio autonomo, utilizzando il materiale consigliato dall'insegnante e quello reperibile sulle piattaforme di e-learning.

The course will consist of frontal lessons and some elements of blended learning. It will focus on both receptive (reading and listening), and production (writing and speaking) skills. Group work and task-based activities will constitute a fundamental part of the course. At this level students will be expected to do a considerable amount of self-study using material recommended by the teacher as well as material to be found on e-learning platforms.

RISULTATI DI APPRENDIMENTO ATTESI LEARNING OUTCOMES

Conoscenze e comprensione.

L’obiettivo principale è quello di raggiungere un livello in cui gli studenti e le studentesse possano comunicare efficacemente in inglese su un'ampia varietà di argomenti, anche se non familiari. Questo risultato sarebbe in linea con il livello C1 espresso nel Quadro Comune Europeo.
Per migliorare la conoscenza e la comprensione, gli studenti e le studentesse lavoreranno con materiale autentico sia per attività di lettura che di ascolto.

Capacità di applicare conoscenze e comprensione.

Il corso mira a fornire agli studenti e alle studentesse gli strumenti per poter utilizzare una gamma più ampia e sofisticata di funzioni linguistiche, ipotizzando, discutendo, presentando idee, progetti e così via.

Competenze trasversali.

Le competenze acquisite durante il corso permetteranno agli studenti e alle studentesse di poter dimostrare un livello C1 in occasione di esami esterni tipo Cambridge, Oxford, Pearson, IELTS, TOEFL ecc.

Knowledge and Understanding.

The main outcome is to reach a level where students can communicate effectively in English about a wide variety of topics even if they are unfamiliar. This outcome would be in line with the C1 level as expressed in the Common European Framework.
To improve knowledge and understanding students will work with authentic material both when reading and listening.

Capacity to apply Knowledge and Understanding.

The course aims to equip students with the ability to use a wider and more sophisticated range of linguistic functions, speculating, hypothesizing, debating, presenting ideas and so on.

Transversal Skills.

The skills acquired during the course aim to put students in the position to be able to demonstrate a C1 level when taking external exams, Cambridge, Oxford, Pearson, IELTS, TOEFL etc.

PROGRAMMA PROGRAM

Gli studenti e le studentesse affronteranno un programma di grammatica che si baserà sulle conoscenze esistenti e le amplierà. Rispetto ai livelli inferiori, si concentrerà maggiormente sulle abilità di produzione e favorirà la capacità di utilizzare tecniche di apprendimento estensive e intensive. Inoltre, si farà regolarmente attività di ascolto, lettura e conversazione in coppia e gruppo.

Students will cover a grammar syllabus that will build upon and extend existing knowledge. It will focus more on production skills than lower levels and foster the ability to make use of extensive as well as intensive learning techniques. Furthermore, there will be regular practice in listening, reading and conversation in both pairs and small groups.

MODALITÀ DI SVOLGIMENTO DELL'ESAME DEVELOPMENT OF THE EXAMINATION

Modalità di valutazione dell'apprendimento.

Il grado di conoscenza acquisito sarà valutato attraverso un test al PC. Per gli di studenti e le studentesse con disabilità/invalidità o disturbo specifico di apprendimento (DSA), che abbiano fatto debita richiesta di supporto per affrontare lo specifico esame di profitto all’Info Point Disabilità/DSA dell’Ateneo. Le modalità di esame saranno adattate alla luce di quanto previsto dalle linee guida di Ateneo (https://www.univpm.it/Entra/Servizi_agli_studenti/Disabilita_e_DSA_Servizio_di_accoglienza).

Criteri di valutazione dell'apprendimento.

Il voto verrà espresso in trentesimi. Lo studente supererà l’esame se otterrà almeno 18. È prevista l’assegnazione del massimo dei voti con lode (30 e lode)

Criteri di attribuzione del voto finale.

Il voto finale verrà attribuito sulla base dell’esito della prova scritta. Voti positivi: da 18 a 30. La lode verrà attribuita agli studenti e alle studentesse che dimostreranno un’ottima capacità nelle abilità linguistiche.

Learning Evaluation Methods.

The students’ knowledge will be tested via a computer-based written test. Grades will be awarded on a 30-point scale, with a minimum of 18 required to pass. The highest grade with honors (30 with distinction) may also be awarded.
