Being an interdisciplinary course, there are no specific sectoral/thematic requirements. However, a good understanding of the European Union (UE), the main EU institutions and governance mechanisms are welcome.

Students will be engaged in integrated multilayer teaching activities ranging from:
• Frontal lessons (ex-cathedra)
• Open lectures with national and international guests
• Co-design Policy Laboratory
• Course’s final public seminar.

Students will learn the basics of the EU Cooperation approach, specifically focusing on the Adriatic-Ionian Cooperation experience.
Structured as an interactive and interdisciplinary course, students will learn to apply theoretical concepts to policy design and decision-making processes at various levels.
The course will allow the students to comprehend the basics of Adriatic-Ionian Cooperation and how to advance policy recommendations toward various actors/levels.
Practical laboratories will allow students to acquire basic knowledge of conducting and applying co-design techniques to shape scenarios and draft policy papers.
Students will learn the basics of the EU Cooperation approach, specifically focusing on the Adriatic-Ionian Cooperation experience.

• First cycle – Cooperation, EU Cohesion Policy and Programmes
• Second cycle - Adriatic Ionian: a regional (identity) in construction
• Third cycle - Adriatic-Ionian Regional Cooperation, EU Macro-regional Strategy and EUSAIR
Part 2 Open lectures - Cooperation experience and experiences in the Adriatic Ionian Region. International and national experts will be invited to present the most-advanced finding in the fields.
Part 3 - Co-design policy laboratory, students (grouped in teams of max of three) will be invited to explore, identify, and advance policy recommendations (i.e., drafting of policy papers) on improving “cooperation governance” in the Adriatic-Ionian Region.
Part 4 - Final public seminar will be organised to present the course’s activity. Students will be invited to discuss and test with a selected committee of experts their policy recommendations/policy papers.

For the final exam, students will be evaluated based on their policy papers at’85% and oral discussion at 15%.
Students must show a solid knowledge of Adriatic-Ionian Cooperation and advance possible solutions to improve it in the coming years. Students will be evaluated based on the quality of policy papers and the final public presentation.
From 18 to 30. Cum laude can be attributed to outstanding performance.
The evaluation with be based on a qualitative approach. Policy papers with be evaluated with a maximum of 25 points, while the public presentation and discussion will consist of 5 points.
