Conoscenze di Neuroanatomia e Neurofisiologia.
Notions of physics, chemistry, biochemistry, biology, histology and anatomy.
Notions of Brain Anatomy and Physiology.
Il corso viene erogato tramite lezioni frontali in aula
The course will be developed by lectures
At the end of the course the student should know the main physiological mechanisms of functioning of the nervous system, of the respiratory system and of the motility of the gastrointestinal tract. In addition, he/she will know the human cognitive processes in the healthy and pathological conditions.
The student should be able to work in the environment of the clinical neuropsychology, showing understanding of the clinic and diagnosys of behavioural and cognitive alterations provoked by acute and chronic brain lesions, and in degenerative neural pathological conditions, also thanks to the knowledge in the field of the neurophysiology.
The student should show the ability to discuss and interpret clinical cases by integrating notions from neurophysiology and neuropsychology. In addition, he/she should be oriented in the defining the diagnostic overview of any clinical case.

The student's learning will be evaluated by means of an oral exam, consisting in two parts, one for the Neurophysiology Didactic Unit and one for the Neuropsychology unit. Each part consists of three general questions on topics of the Neurophysiology or Neuropsychology program, to which the student will respond by organizing his/her own talk in a personalized way. Each answer will receive a score from 1 to 10. If there will be incertainity, one or more additional questions will be presented.
During the oral examination, the student’s overall knowledge of the principle of functioning of human nervous system, respiratory system and gastrointestinal tract in normal conditions will be avaluated, as well as his/her knowledge of human cognitive functions in normal and pathological conditions.
The evaluation will be expressed in thirtieths for each didactic unit. The learning’s evaluation will be assessed by the ability demonstrated according to the criteria above indicated. To pass the exam the student should reach a sufficient evaluation, 18/30, in each unit. A plenitude of presentation will affetc positively the final mark.
The final evaluation will be expressed in thirtieths, and i twill result from a weigthed mean of the marks of each unit. The maximum evaluation, 30/30, is reached when the student demonstrates a complete knowledge of the arguments of the course. The honors are reserved to those students who demonstrate a personal in-depth analysis and a bright presentation.
