The course intends to provide insights on
environmental impacts of road, railway and airport
infrastructures as well as knowledge on
environmental mitigation measures.
The course also aims at providing knowledge about
road and airport safety issues including road accident
analysis and reconstruction.
The course will provide students to acquire methods
and procedures for analyzing environmental impacts
of transport infrastructures as well as assessing road
safety and acquiring basic concepts on road accident
reconstruction. The course will consist of classroom
lectures.
Analytical and methodological skills acquired during
the course will allow a detailed understanding of
transportation environmental impacts and safety that
involve issues common to other subjects within the
framework of Environmental Engineering with the aim
to improve learning and communication skills in a
multidisciplinary context.

The final examination consists of an oral discussion focused on the topics covered in class
At the oral examination student has to prove a suitable understanding of the topics covered in class and to have acquired concepts related to environmental impacts of transportation systems as well as road and airport safety issues.
Assignment of a final score. The maximum score is 30/30.
In order to pass the exam with a minimum score (18/30), the student needs to know sufficiently each topic. Further score is assigned on the basis of learning level of discussed topics. The maximum score (30/30) will be achieved by proving an extensive knowledge of the topics. The score “cum laude” will be assigned to students who, having achieved the maximum score, will prove a strong competence on the subject as well as clearness and brightness of exposition during the oral discussion.
