Il modulo ha la finalità di favorire l’acquisizione di conoscenze teoriche e di abilità pratiche. Sono previste lezioni frontali interattive, applicazioni pratiche con utilizzo di PC, in particolare un software specifico per analisi statistiche. Sono previste attività formative volte a sviluppare competenze metodologiche per comprendere la ricerca scientifica e anche a supporto dell'elaborato di tesi.
The module aims to promote the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. There will be interactive lectures, practical applications using PC particularly, using a specific software for statistical analysis. Training activities are planned to develop methodological skills to understand scientific research and to support the thesis.

Il modulo prevede la trattazione dei seguenti argomenti integrata con l’applicazione del Software R per l’elaborazione dei dati:
Introduzione al corso: obiettivi e metodi per la progettazione di studi, la raccolta e l’analisi dei dati in ambito ostetrico.
Metodi statistici per la sintesi e la rappresentazione dei dati quantitativi e qualitativi (codifica e la registrazione delle informazioni, classificazione delle variabili, tabelle e grafici, misure di centralità e variabilità)
Principi del calcolo delle probabilità e loro applicazione nello studio dei fenomeni bio-medici (probabilità di un evento semplice e composto, probabilità condizionata e teorema di Bayes, distribuzione di probabilità normale e sue applicazioni)
Concetti generali di inferenza statistica (distribuzione di campionamento, parametro, stima e stimatore)
Intervallo di confidenza di un parametro (media, differenze fra medie)
Test statistico di ipotesi per il confronto tra gruppi, per l’analisi dell’associazione di variabili qualitative e principali applicazione in campo bio-medico (t-test per dati appaiati, t-test per campioni indipendenti, test del Chi-quadro)
The module includes the discussion of the following topics integrated with the application of the R Software for data elaboration:
Introduction to the course: objectives and methods for the study design, the collection and analysis of data in obstetric field.
Statistical methods for the synthesis and representation of quantitative and qualitative data (encoding and recording the information, classification of variables, tables and graphs, measures of centrality and variability)
Probability calculation and their application in the study of biomedical fields (probability of a simple and multiple event, conditional probability, Bayes theorem, normal probability distribution and its applications)
General concepts of statistical inference (sampling distribution, parameter, estimate and estimator)
Confidence Interval of a parameter (mean, mean difference)
Statistical tests for the comparison between groups, for the analysis of the association of qualitative variables and the main application in the biomedical field (t-test for paired data, t-test for independent samples, Chi-square test)
